The terms of the extension are valued at $105.9 million, with a substantial $101 million guaranteed. Of this, $63.35 million is guaranteed at the time of signing, complemented by a $31.85 million signing bonus.
Williams, a formidable presence on the defensive line who has earned Pro Bowl selections in each of the past four seasons, arrived in Dallas via a blockbuster trade with the New York Jets last season, prior to the league's trade deadline.

Williams' new contract places him in an exclusive group as the fourth defensive tackle whose deal averages over $30 million annually. He joins Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Carter (four years, $152 million), Tennessee Titans' Jeffery Simmons (three years, $105.8 million), and Kansas City Chiefs' Chris Jones (five years, $158.75 million) in this elite financial tier.
With this new agreement, the Cowboys have secured one of the premier defensive tackles in the league, keeping him under contract through the 2030 season. This commitment aligns with comments made by team executive vice president Stephen Jones, who emphasized the importance of retaining key talent at the beginning of training camp.
From New York to Dallas: A Blockbuster Trade
The New York Jets, experiencing another challenging season, opted to part ways with both Williams and star cornerback Sauce Gardner, who was traded to the Indianapolis Colts. This move saw the Jets relinquish two players who were top-four selections in their respective NFL Drafts, signaling a continued focus on their rebuilding efforts.
The decision by the Jets to trade Williams was notable, especially since they had previously signed him to a four-year, $96 million extension, including $66 million guaranteed, in 2023.
