A four-year-old child tragically passed away last Thursday following an electrical shock from a clothes dryer inside a residence in Savonburg, Kansas. Local officials have characterized the incident as a "tragic accident."
The fatal event occurred while the child was reportedly playing within a home in Savonburg. According to a statement released Saturday by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), the child is believed to have sustained an electrical shock from a 220-volt dryer.
Upon realizing the situation, the child's parents quickly transported their unconscious child to a nearby hospital around 9:30 p.m. Despite their efforts, the child was later pronounced deceased at the medical facility.
Investigation Underway
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. At this stage, authorities do not suspect any foul play.

One documented instance of such a rare tragedy occurred in 2018, when a 10-year-old boy was discovered deceased inside a dryer at an apartment complex near Houston. A medical examiner determined that the boy had been electrocuted. Investigators at the time found no indications of injury or foul play, and the death was ultimately ruled accidental.
